Continental is proud to unveil another award win for its SportContact 7 tyre, collecting the Product Innovation Award at last week’s National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) 93rd Annual Dinner in the UK.
Since its launch in October last year into the highly competitive ultra-high performance (UHP) tyre segment, the new game-changing SportContact 7 has seen phenomenal results. In developing the SportContact 7, Continental has focused on improving all performance criteria to combine ultimate driving pleasure with maximum safety and sustainability. The aim was to set a new standard in the field of UHP tyres – and that’s exactly what’s happened.
Several vehicle manufacturers are already using the SportContact 7 as original equipment, with independent testers describing the new product as a breakthrough in tyre performance.
Continental’s Managing Director Tarik Gorgun collected the award for at the Association’s hugely popular event attended by over 600 guests at the VOX Conference Centre in Birmingham
Commenting on the award win, Tarik Gorgun said: “Although the SportContact 7 is still very new to the market, end user and customer feedback has been extremely positive, and this latest accolade is a testament to how Continental is raising the bar in terms of innovation, performance and design. I’m very proud to receive this award on behalf of Continental, in front of our industry peers and for the recognition of our innovation within the tyre industry.”
NTDA Chief Executive Stefan Hay said: “Continental’s SportContact 7 entry for the NTDA Product Innovation of the Year Award was considered exceptional. The technical data, customer benefits and features were demonstrated and proven in such outstanding detail that the judges considered it without comparison, so much so, that it was the only entry to reach the final and was, therefore, the outright winner.
