KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian rubber prices extended their fall at close today, tracking the Shanghai Futures Exchange’s (SHFE) downtrend, as more traders remained on the sidelines, a dealer said.
The dealer said the SHFE experienced a downtrend today on concern over the unsteady export growth and softening domestic demand.
The Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 lost 8.0 sen to 469.5 sen a kg at noon while latex-in-bulk eased 2.5 sen to 386 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 slipped 2.5 sen to 468.5 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk fell 1.5 sen to 386.5 sen a kg.– Bernama
