KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian rubber prices extended losses to close mostly lower today, tracking weaker sentiment on regional markets which curbed buying interest among foreign buyers, a dealer said.
Market trendsetter, the Tokyo Commodity Exchange Shanghai Futures Exchange, also experienced a downtrend, resulting from a decline in crude oil prices.
The noon benchmark Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 was unchanged at 461 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk shed one sen to 369 sen a kg.
The 5pm unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 slipped 5.0 sen to 457.5 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk inched down 1.5 sen to 368.5 sen a kg. Bernama
