Taiwan’s state-owned CPC Corp has sold about 10,000 mt of propylene for November loading, sources said Thursday.
The deal was heard concluded late Tuesday at $1,170/mt FOB Kaohsiung.
CPC was not available to comment.
CPC rarely sold propylene on a spot basis until a July 31 underground pipeline blast led to the shutdown of major customer, Lee Chang Yung Chemical Industry Corp.’s 400,000 mt/year polypropylene plant.
Since August 1, it has sold about 51,900 mt of propylene on a spot basis.
