KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian rubber market fell for the second consecutive day yesterday on lack of demand.
A dealer said the local rubber market continued to track further declines in regional futures markets caused by weaker crude oil prices and higher regional currencies.
The noon benchmark Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 declined 10 sen to 497.50 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk shed 3.5 sen to 403.0 sen a kg.
The 5pm unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 eased 8.5 sen to 497.0 sen a kg and latex-in-bulk was down by six sen to 399.50 sen a kg. Bernama
