TRAT, 18 Nov 2014, A number of rubber farmers in Trat Province have been lining up to open new accounts at the Bank of Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) in anticipation of the government’s price support of 1,000 baht per rai, with a maximum of 15,000 baht for each grower.
According to officials, the payment process will be transparent and can be accounted for, adding that the province has appointed committees at sub-district, district and provincial levels to oversee the process.
Authorities have urged eligible para rubber planters who have not registered for the scheme to do so before the deadline, December 15th.
