Japan’s styrene-butadiene-rubber production in October fell 19% from a month earlier to 32,100 mt, the Japan Petrochemical Industry Association said Thursday, November 20.
The October production marked a 25% year-on-year decline.
Japan’s butadiene-rubber production also dropped in October, falling 26% from September and down 9% year on year to 19,100 mt.
Japan’s synthetic rubber production is seen to have dropped in October due to the maintenance season.
Japan’s Zeon shut its 167,000 mt/year SBR unit and 63,000 mt/year BR plant at Tokuyama from mid-September for two months of annual maintenance.
