January US butadiene contract prices were nominated 3-6 cents/lb ($66-$132/mt) lower than December settlements, sources said Tuesday.
ExxonMobil nominated down 3 cents/lb to 46 cents/lb ($1,014/mt), Shell Chemicals nominated down 3 cents/lb to 40 cents/lb ($882/mt), LyondellBasell nominated down 5 cents/lb to 38 cents/lb ($838/mt) and TPC Group nominated down 6 cents/lb to 35 cents/lb ($772/mt), sources said.
Confirmation on the nominations from producers was not immediately available.
The nominations are void of any discounts or adders that producers might include, sources said.
Despite all four nominations being announced, sources said the January contract was unsettled as there could be movement.
Market expectations from sources for January contracts had been for a decrease of 1-5 cents/lb from January, so the nominations were mostly in line with expectations.
US spot butadiene was last assessed Friday at 40 cents/lb CIF USG as demand continued to be heard weak, sources said.
The December US butadiene contract price settled down 3 cents/lb ($66/mt) from November at a 41-49 cents/lb ($904-$1,080/mt) split settlement, sources said. TPC Group settled at 41 cents/lb, Shell Chemicals and LyondellBasell settled at 43 cents/lb, and ExxonMobil settled at 49 cents/lb, sources said.
Producer confirmations on the settlements were unavailable, and the settlements were void of any discounts or adders that producers might include, sources said.
