Prometeon Tyre Group has named Ali Yilmaz as the new MD for the UK, Ireland and Nordics, effective from 1st January 2023.
The move sees Yilmaz promoted from Commercial Director to the leadership role of the cluster, replacing interim MD Francesco Antonacci.
Commenting on the announcement, Yilmaz says: “I am absolutely delighted to have been asked to lead Prometeon UK. I strongly believe in our company’s purpose and our responsibility to facilitate sustainable support wherever possible.”
He describes his six and half years at Prometeon Tyre Group as “an incredible experience and opportunity” working in different geographies including Turkey, Russia, Africa, the Middle East, the Nordics and Milan, Italy, at the company’s global headquarters.
The last six months has seen Yilmaz leading the commercial side of the business as Commercial Director, and he believes Prometeon is firmly on the right path for the UK market. “2022 has been a year of unexpected challenges for everyone but through these unprecedented times we have found a way to work together and achieve brilliant results. With the plans I have for the business we will strongly carry on with this same level of growth,” he adds.
Yilmaz says his main focus areas are Prometeon’s customers, and Prometeon’s people. “My priorities are to find new ways to grow, including new products and services, new business models, and deepen existing customer relationships.”
He also wants to pursue innovation as a long-term strategy and geographic expansion, particularly in the UK.
As part of his growth plans, rewarding and promoting internally at Prometeon is something Yilmaz is keen to expand on, and he has already announced two new promotions within the senior management team.
Steve Tift has been promoted from UK Sales Manager to the newly created role of Sales Director, UK and Eire, while former Customer Service Team Leader India Gould has been named Marketing Manager – UK, Eire & Nordics.
He adds: “Prometeon UK has a big growth opportunity, and I will be placing a great importance on internal promotions.”
Commenting on the new positions, Yilmaz says: “India and Steve have played key roles in Prometeon’s growth over the last couple of years and very much deserve their new positions. I look forward to working very closely with them both as we embark on the next chapter at Prometeon UK.”
