Turkish petrochemicals producer Petkim has cut its polymer list prices for the third time this month, tracking falls in polymer prices globally, according to Turkish trading sources.
The company has reduced its prices by a further $35-55/mt, according to the sources.
Petkim’s LDPE list prices are now at $1,330-1340/mt FCA Aliaga, while PP raffia and fiber grades are at $1,250-1,260/mt and $1,275/mt, respectively.
HDPE injection, blow molding and pipe grades are listed at $1,395/mt, $1,405/mt and $1,485/mt, respectively. Pipe grade PVC is at $965/mt FCA Aliaga.
Polymer prices have seen steep falls, tracking lower upstream naphtha prices.
Naphtha was assessed at $399/mt CIF NWE Monday, hovering above the six-year low of $372/mt touched January 13.
Given low naphtha prices and relatively strong olefin prices, European ethylene and propylene contract prices are expected to fall in February.
Contract prices for ethylene and propylene last settled on December 23 at Eur880/mt FD NWE and Eur835/mt respectively, down Eur130/mt and Eur120/mt on the month.
Petkim declined to comment.
