TOKYO: Tokyo’s benchmark shares index closed 0.41 percent higher on Monday after a see-saw session, as investors weighed positive earning results with weaker-than-expected Chinese economic data.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which opened in negative territory, closed 84.13 points higher at 20,808.69. The Topix index of all first-section shares gained 0.72 percent, or 12.10 points, to 1,691.29.
