Materials maker Precision Color Compounds has installed its third production line.
Fort Wayne, Ind.-based PCC installed the extrusion line in November to handle larger volume orders and tolling opportunities, founder Bob Mann said in a Jan. 6 phone interview.
PCC now operates three extrusion lines with annual production capacity of 6 million pounds. The firm’s product mix includes color concentrates and compounds based on polyethylene, ABS, polycarbonate and nylon for several markets, including construction, consumer and medical.
PCC also became ISO-certified in November and installed an injection molding machine for lab samples during 2015 as well, Mann said. This year, the firm may add other pieces of equipment and by 2017 might need to add space to its 10,000-square-foot facility, he added.
Mann founded PCC in December 2014 after spending nearly 20 years with materials firm Color Master Inc. and sheet extruder Royalite. PCC then was acquired in August — less than a year after opening — by the Ellis Co., a Fort Wayne-based investment firm.
