HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks rose Wednesday, bucking an Asian trend that saw markets in mainland China and elsewhere in the region track Wall Street losses.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.86 percent, or 279.98 points, to end the day at 32,887.27.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.21 percent, or 7.18 points, to 3,480.83, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, fell 1.66 percent, or 31.75 points, to 1,877.82.
