TORONTO: Canada’s main stock index opened modestly higher on Monday, boosted by higher global markets and as gains in the heavyweight energy sector helped offset weakness among gold producers.
At 9:34 a.m. ET (13:34 GMT), the Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 15.67 points, or 0.1 percent, at 15,593.48.
