China’s Liu He says China ready to defend its interests in trade spat with U.S.: Xinhua

BEIJING (Reuters) – Chinese Vice Premier Liu He told U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that the United States has violated international trade rules following its Section 301 probe and China is ready to defend its interests.

In a phone call with Mnuchin on Saturday morning, Liu said China still hopes both sides will remain “rational” and jointly work together to keep bilateral trade relations stable, according to the official Xinhua news agency.
