Rubber price closed higher Tuesday in tandem with firmer sentiments on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, a dealer said.
The dealer said rubber prices were higher on speculative buying as investors took the cue from a raebounded rubber market after yesterday’s losses.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade Standard Malaysian Rrubber (SMR) 20 rose eight sen to 844.5 sen per kg from 836.5 sen per kg yesterday and latex in bulk increased 0.5 sen to 616.5 sen per kg from 616.0 sen per kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 gained seven sen to 846.0 sen per kg from 839.0 sen per kg yesterday while latex-in-bulk added 2.5 sen up to 617.0 sen per kg from 614.5 per kg Monday.
