KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 (Bernama) — The Malaysian rubber market is likely to remain quiet next week with players expected to stay on the sidelines awaiting fresh leads, a dealer said.
The dealer said rubber prices on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange will continue to influence the movement on the local rubber market next week.
The rubber market was closed Friday due to the Good Friday holiday.
On a week-to-week basis, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 declined 13 sen to 844.5 sen per kg on Thursday, against 857.5 sen last Friday.
Latex-in-bulk was down by 3.5 sen to 616.5 sen per kg from 620.0 sen per kg.
The unofficial sellers’ closing price for tyre-grade SMR20 slipped 24.5 sen to 832.0 sen per kg versus 856.5 sen per kg last week, while latex-in-bulk dropped 3.5 sen to 615.5 sen per kg from 619.0 sen per kg previously.
