Takes up issue with Union Minister concerned
Union Minister of State for Tourism K.J. Alphons has called for minimum support price for natural rubber just like for all other agriculture produce and said it should be 50% above the cost of production.
At a meeting with Union Minister for Commerce, Industry and Aviation Suresh Prabhu, he discussed the formulation of a new rubber policy, a press note on Tuesday said. Mr. Prabhu said that the issue had to be placed before the Finance Ministry before taking it to the Cabinet. He promised that he would speed up the matter.
Kannur airport
Mr. Prabhu informed Mr. Alphons that the Union government had already issued permission for Jet Airways and Go Air to operate their services to Abu Dhabi and Dammam from the Kannur airport. The proposed Kannur-Doha service submitted by Indigo Airlines had also been approved.
