Blend values for toluene and mixed xylenes were estimated at four-month lows Tuesday at $3.6294/gallon ($1,103.34/mt) and $3.6461/gal ($1,104.77/mt), respectively, according to Platts data.
The last time blend values were lower than these levels was December 26, when the blend value for toluene was estimated at $3.5775/gal and the blend value for mixed xylenes was estimated at $3.59/gal, according to Platts data.
Toluene and mixed xylenes blend values have been pressured by declining gasoline prices and a narrower spread between unleaded 87 and unleaded 93 prices, industry sources said.
Prices peaked at $4.7002/gal for the blend value of mixed xylenes and $4.679/gal for the toluene blend value on March 5, but have been declining since.
