Japan’s crude rubber stocks hit an all-time high of 16,094 mt on April 30, data released Tuesday by the Rubber Trade Association of Japan showed.
The latest data exceeded a previous record high of 15,976 mt registered on April 20.
The higher stocks came amid a fall in local automobile production. On April 30, the Japan Automobile Dealers Association said output reached 823,145 units in March, down 16% from 984,563 units in the same 2012 month.
The RTAJ releases the stock data every 10-11 days.
