HONG KONG: Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks opened slightly lower on Tuesday after rising almost three percent in the previous two trading days while investors are also on edge over brewing geopolitical tensions.
The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.53 percent, or 137.66 points, to 26,015.49.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.08 percent, or 2.23 points, to 2,652.65, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, was barely moved, inching down 0.25 points to 1,325.48.
