Investing.com – Citing Russia’s standoff with Ukraine, U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted that he has canceled a planned meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Argentina.
On Sunday Russia fired on Ukrainian ships that were sailing towards the Sea of Azov, prompting Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko to ask NATO to send ships to the area.
The cancellation came just one hour after Trump told reporters that he would probably meet with Putin and just two hours after the president’s ex-lawyer Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about involvement in a real estate deal in Russia.
