National Tyres and Autocare are delighted to announce they have won an award for their work promoting tyre safety to UK drivers. Their achievements were recognised by TyreSafe, the UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of tyre safety. National came first in the highly competitive Tyre Retailer category this year, following their win in the Online & Social Media category last year.

Every day in our branches we see examples of inattention towards the condition of drivers’ tyres, and this is why we take our responsibility to educate and inform ALL drivers very seriously.’
TyreSafe estimate that over 27% of tyres on UK roads may be illegal at point of replacement* and that over 2.2 million MOT failures are due to tyre defects in a normal year.**. With these alarming figures in mind, National created a range of tyre safety services and promoted these widely to the general public alongside a year-long educational campaign focussing on tyre safety. Branch services included free tyre safety checks, vehicle inspections and services packages, an MOT pre-booking facility, plus financial support packages to help spread payment for vital repairs.
