NEW DELHI – Prices of wheat rose today in Kota, Rajasthan, but were flat in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Prices for maize were unavailable in Karnataka’s Davanagere as the market is shut on account of a local festival, traders said.
* Prices of WHEAT rose today in Kota market due to a decline in arrivals, said Chander Khandelwal, a local trader. Arrivals fell sharply today because of heavy rainfall, Khandelwal said.
* Arrivals were pegged lower at 1,500 bags (1 bag = 100 kg) against 3,000 bags on the previous day.
* Prices of mill-quality wheat in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were flat because of a firm bulk demand despite higher arrivals, N.K. Agarwal, a local trader, said.
* Arrivals were pegged higher at 1,300 bags (1 bag = 100 kg), against 1,000 bags on Monday.
* Prices of MAIZE in Purnea, Bihar, were largely unchanged, and arrivals were also steady at 4,000 bags (1 bag = 65 kg), local trader Kanhaiya Rastogi said.
* The benchmark Davanagere market for maize in Karnataka was shut today on account of a local festival.
* Prices of BASMATI 1121 PADDY and BAJRA were largely unchanged across markets.
