NEW DELHI – Prices of mustard in Jaipur, Rajasthan, rose marginally today, as demand picked up from domestic oil millers and stockists. Prices of soybean were unavailable in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, the benchmark market, traders said.
* In Jaipur, MUSTARD was sold for 7,225 rupees per 100 kg, up 25 rupees from Thursday, a trader with Manishankar Oils said. Arrivals were pegged at 570,000 bags (1 bag = 84 kg) as against 350,000 bags the previous day.
* However, projections of record mustard production this season are likely to cap the upside in the near term, the trader said.
* India’s mustard seed production in 2021-22 (Jul-Jun) is seen 29% higher at an all-time high of 10.95 mln tn, according to estimates provided by the Central Organisation for Oil Industry & Trade.
* In Indore, SOYBEAN prices were unavailable, as markets remained shut today, said N.K. Aggarwal, a local trader.
