KUALA LUMPUR (March 13): Rubber prices on the Malaysian rubber market extended their upward trend today, on sustained demand for the commodity, said a dealer.
The dealer said that the higher rubber market was also in tandem with higher opening prices on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange and other regional markets.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR20 was 14.5 sen higher, at 637.5 sen a kg, and latex-in-bulk gained four sen to 492 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR20, rose 8.5 sen to 638.5 sen, and latex-in-bulk was two sen higher at 492.5 sen a kg.
