NEW DELHI – Wheat prices rose slightly in Kota, Rajasthan, due to higher demand, while prices of maize were flat across major markets, traders said.
* Prices of mill-quality WHEAT rose marginally in Kota due to slightly higher demand from millers and bulk buyers, said Chander Khandelwal, a local trader. Arrivals were pegged steady at 15,000 bags (1 bag = 50 kg).
* Prices of mill-quality wheat were steady in Indore. Arrivals were pegged at 7,000 bags, down 1,000 bags from Monday, said N.K. Agarwal said, a local trader. “Prices are expected to remain the same this week and there’s no major change in demand and arrivals,” Agarwal said.
* Prices of MAIZE were flat in Purnea, Bihar, as firm demand from millers was offset by a rise in supply, said Kanhaiya Rastogi, a local dealer. Arrivals were pegged at 67,500 bags (1 bag = 65 kg), compared with 60,000 bags on Monday.
* Prices of maize were also steady in Davanagere, a major market in Karnataka. Arrivals were pegged steady at 1,000 bags, said Shiva Kumar, a local trader.
* Prices of BASMATI 1121 PADDY and BAJRA were largely unchanged across markets.
