NEW DELHI – Prices of mustard fell today in the benchmark market of Jaipur, Rajasthan, due to lukewarm demand from domestic millers, while those of soybean in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, were unavailable today, said traders.
* In Jaipur, MUSTARD was sold for 7,125 rupees per 100 kg today, down 25 rupees from Tuesday.
* Arrivals were pegged at 295,000 bags (1 bag = 84 kg) as against 315,000 bags the previous day.
* Strong demand from overseas stockists and concern over low supply of sunflower oil from the Russia-Ukraine corridor supported mustard prices, said a trader from Manishankar Oils.
* Even with India estimating a record mustard seed production in 2021-22, farmers are not bringing their produce to the market in large quantity as they are waiting for prices to rise further, he added.
* Prices are likely to move in a range of 6,950-7,200 rupees per 100 kg in the next one week, the trader said.
* SOYBEAN prices were unavailable in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, the benchmark wholesale market for the commodity, as the market was shut today on account of Amavasya, said Indore-based trader N.K. Aggarwal.
* The market will resume trade on Thursday, he said.
* Soybean prices are likely to trade in the range of 6,200-6,400 rupees per 100 kg, he added. End
