KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian rubber prices closed mixed yesterday on the back of further weakening of the ringgit against the US dollar.
A dealer said the rubber market continued its uptrend in tandem with the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, which was higher supported by gains in Japanese equities and weaker yen.
The Malaysian Rubber Board’s official physical price for tyre-grade SMR 20 added two sen to 522 sen a kg at noon while latex-in-bulk stood unchanged at 417.50 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 increased one sen to 522.0 sen a kg while latex-in-bulk gained half-a-sen at 417.50 sen a kg. Bernama
