TOYO TIRES and the Ring Racing motorsport team can reflect on a highly successful 2024 motorsport season. Together, the two partners tested innovative tyre developments under extreme conditions on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, one of the most demanding racetracks in the world. The insights gained from motorsport feed directly into the ongoing development and production of high-performance passenger car tyres.
A highlight of the season was the deployment of the newly developed Proxes slick racing tyres at the prestigious 24-hour race. These tyres embody sustainable innovation: TOYO TIRES incorporates renewable raw materials such as vegetable oils, sustainable silica derived from rice husk ash, and recycled wire for the bead core.
Class victory in the SP10 category
Thanks to the outstanding performance of the new tyres and the team’s unwavering commitment, Ring Racing secured the class victory in the SP10 category of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) ahead of schedule. The Toyota Supra GT4 cars, in particular, delivered impressive results on the track.
Presentation at the Essen Motor Show 2024
Due to the ongoing corporate restructuring, TOYO TIRES did not have its own booth at this year’s Essen Motor Show (EMS). Instead, the Ring Racing team represented the brand in Hall 3, showcasing the impressive TOYO TIRES motorsport truck and two Toyota Supra GT4 race cars. The cars drew crowds of motorsport fans, many of whom eagerly took the opportunity to sit inside and snap a selfie. In particular, the No. 170 car, which recently secured 1st place in the fifth race (NLS), and the No. 171 car, which claimed the SP10 class victory, generated significant excitement.
Awards at the “Night of Champions”
The crowning glory of the season took place on Saturday, 14 December, as part of the “Night of Champions”, the official championship celebration of the Nürburgring Endurance Series. The TOYO TIRES Motorsport team was awarded several trophies, including the class victory in SP10. The drivers were also honoured for their outstanding performances:
• Tim Sandtler received the trophy for 5th place in the 2024 overall standings.
• Marc Hennerici and Andy Gülden were each awarded for 6th place in the 2024 overall standings.
Thanks to the team and fans
TOYO TIRES would like to express its gratitude to the Ring Racing Motorsport Team for an exciting and successful season, as well as to all motorsport fans for their continued support. There is already excitement for the upcoming 2025 season, in which the boundaries of what is possible in motorsport will once again be explored.
